The follows a merger of Centric with Global Diagnostics, a company with four clinics in Britain, a number of radiology clinics in Australia and an international 'teleradiology' service. Maurice Cox, chief executive of Centric, said the firm would make an initial investment of 2 million in the Irish base, rising to 10 million. More than 120 radiologists are linked into Global Diagnostics's internet-based system, which provides diagnostic service to staff in hospitals and clinics around the world. ''Our aspiration is to provide a service to report on more than 500,000 overseas diagnostic investigations from within Ireland each year,'' Cox said. Centric has set up a number of specialist clinics in Ireland, including walk-in urgent care centres that are designed to treat non-life-threatening emergencies. The firm also has eight GP practice partnerships, a health screening service, an occupational medical service and a sizeable medical recruitment arm. Cox said that Centric, which has more than 250 employees and an annual turnover of 30 million, had significant expansion plans. Back |
